I just got a take out order from these guys last week and it was massive I even went to the restaurant and thanked the owner a lot paid 71.00 and i got over a 100 bucks in food i was happy with my delivery
In the crabby Joe's parking lot
Yep they do
I've heard a lot of great things about this place, but I personally don't get it. The food is fairly good. I can't say that I loved any of the 4 dishes i've tried there on multiple occasions. Everything is just OK. The restaurant decor/atmosphere is average to below-average and service is also just OK. The prices are certainly on the high side given these factors. Nothing is great about this place aside from the downtown location.
Excellent and authentic taste! Got the $12.59 small meal that comes with rice + peas covered with choice of gravy, 1 meat (jerk chicken) and 1 side (beef soup of the day). Definitely a great place to go to to satisfy your Carribean cravings. The restaurant is a bit pricier compared to others however the quality makes it justified.
This place has really gone downhill, since the new owner has taken over. The food is terrible. I really need to find a better Caribbean Restaurant.
Amazing as usual. The rotis are delicious and good sized portion. Normally, I get chicken, but they were out. So I tried beef and it was delicious! Plus great service with a smile, even when busy! Ask for their Scotch bonnet sauce for an extra level of flavour!
Delicious roti and patties. Very authentically Caribbean.
Love their roti, its a lot of portion and worth the price!
Horrible dry and oily roti lets be real with the service it sucks. If you want dry and soggy food come to this place. Lady didn't even give me napkins lol how can somebody eat curry chicken roti with no napkins unless she thought i was giving it to my dog. Actually my dog doesn't even deserve this food. Save your money people...
If you want to eat original Caribbean and are strong enough to endure the level of spicy this is the one for you.😌
Food ok servings small 2 peaces of ox tail for the hole order for $13
Poor service. Ordered chicken roti - roti and chicken curry were both luke warm. Curry was bland. I do not plan on returning.
One of the best cuisine I had tried so far in Canada...you wont get any replacements for the word Soul food...truly amazing...made with love it seems...generous portions..keep on doing the good work guys...trust me..you got a regular customer on board with that jerk pork of yours.
Yard Style Breakfast was delicious. Ackee was sopped up with our fried dumplings. The queen had tea with condensed milk and a side of plantains. One note for coffee lovers ... They only have instant. No problem - They let me bring in a coffee from Coffee Culture down the street!
The food is home cooking, favourable and delicious. The service is cafeteria style and eclectic. One of my all time downtown favourites.
By far my favourite Caribbean restaurant in KW. Their food is delicious!
Excellent Food!!!I use to have to wait to enjoy my favorite dish Chicken Curry until Multi Cultural at Victoria Park in the summer each year. That was until I found this gem of a place. Everytime I go there I order the same thing large meal of Chicken curry and trust me it's large!!! It usually lasts me two meals. You get what you pay for and that's delicious Caribbean food. I love being able to enjoy my favorite dish any time of the year. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys Caribbean Cuisine. Trust me you won't be disappointed in the food or the service that's provided to you. This Restaurant definitely deserves 5 stars. Thanks for sharing your dishes with the kitchener area!!!!
Do not get delivery from here. I used to love this place and would come all the time to get 1/2 a pound of curried goat. Now that covid has taken over, I decided to order delivery from them. The portion was so small and it was all bones, there ended up being only 4-5 small pieces of goat left after I took out all the bones. I'm still hungry after I just ate my food. I would not recommend getting delivery from them.
Prices high but it is a little business. The food here is great, probably one of the top Caribbean restaurants nearby! I love the ox tail, jerk chicken, damn I just love it all! I definitely recommend this spot right here!
This place makes food to die for it so damn gooooooooood !!!!
I was looking for a Jamaican restaurant and was referred to this one. The food was tasty and delicious! Tasted very much like back home. The portion size was also adequate. While the prices are a tad bit expensive, It was well worth it!
Prices are too high for the portions you get. Staff seem miserable and often just stand looking at you before taking your order, and when they finally do, they move at "island speed" which is too slow. Used to be great, but I won't be back as there are better options in the area.
Food is great and customer service is good. Family friendly atmosphere and relatively affordable. I love their Saturday soup special. Give them a try next time you are in Kichener, ON, Canada.
Quality dropped by a level or two. Tried this many times before the pandemic and always liked it. Giving them a 4 just considering the extraordinary times we are living now.
Lovely food at a decent price. Ambiance like a fast food place but still good to take friends for lunch or dinner. Feeling well fed. Nice vegetarian/vegan choices as well. Their Plantan is wonderful and all is delicious!
Soul food, don't need to say no more.
Authentic Caribbean cuisine at reasonable prices. For those who have to eat heartily away from home for cheap, this place can't be beat. Authentic jerk and oxtail lunches and dinner with all the fixings. For those needing their fave Jamaican roti, look no further.
Incredibly tasty food! This is a fantastic restaurant. The jerk pork is amazing. Been going for years and it never disappoints
Pretty good food here in a cafeteria setting. I had the curry goat and the wife had the ox tail. My wife said 4 stars because they aren’t true to its roots - its not spicy. You can get scotch bonnet hot sauce for $.50 by the counter. I can recommend.
Went here for the first time with my brother and wow was the food good!! Great portions for the prices and such friendly staff. The guy serving us was so patient with me being a first timer and answered all my questions :) Definitely going to go again!
my first experience here was disappointing. food was bland- not to mention the staff, very rude.
Tastes great for a home cooked quality in a fast-food time frame
Get the roti, tasty and good value. Also has a lot of Caribbean classics on special. Great spot for a quick meal that isn't fast food.
Amazing location with tasty Caribbean cuisinePrice is in the high end but worth the dollar. Highly recommend
This place is doubtless one of the finest place to eat in the region. Anytime I go there I am remarkably satisfied. They always keep their high standard service and the topmost level of dishes they give. You are always happy with this place. Very recommended.
Good, authentic food...a place to come back to. The soup is delicious.
A great first experience! We tried the Oxtail dish and the curried goat. Both were good, but Oxtail was definitely the winner! It's a casual environment with friendly staff and good quality for the price. Will definitely visit again!
Great food and great prices
Can I give this place 6 stars out of 5? I'm in the restaurant business; have been my whole life. This place is definitively THE BEST place for Caribbean food I've ever experienced. Flavourful, generous portions, great selection, wonderful staff (Leona, I think, is the nicest person alive!). Highly, highly, highly recommend! Oh, and let me add, I'm from Trinidad. I know Caribbean cuisine!
Excellent food, friendly service. They have a different soup every day. Soup and a patty is a great, inexpensive lunch.
The food was so amazing would definitely recommend anyone in the area to give it a try ladies were very helpful and polite and Informative about what they have availible next time we are in Waterloo I'll order more food then I did beforeAtmosphere was nice and the wall designs are eye catchingHad a good experience overall
I had Rainbow Caribbean Cuisine for the first time a few days ago and I am in LOVE. It was so delicious. I had the jerk chicken with rice and it was exactly how I imagined it - so full of flavour and not too hot but definitely had some kick to it! You get a lot of food for a really good price. Can't wait to try it again!
This was my 1st visit in awhile. I believe these are new owners. I had the curried chicken roti with a side of rice and peas and a piece of plantain. Roti was very great, albeit a touch salty for my taste. Rice and peas were good also. What's not to say about the plantain, delicious. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and amazing. There was a slight disturbance with someone in the restaurant but she handled it greatly with a friendly manner. Will gladly return again for my Caribbean fix.
Nothing beats Grandmas lol but this is easily the best carribbean restaurant I've ever been to. Had to post the picture that I ate down EVERYTHING
I lived with Jamaicans for a few years. I know my Carribean food quite well. I gave this 3 stars because of the plate I had. I bought the jerk chicken. I was shocked when there was a BBQ sauce or the jerk sauce poured on top. That's not how it's done. Chicken was dry and I didn't like the sauce of the coleslaw. I am also used to cabbage and carrots instead of coleslaw. The one woman serving the food was hard to hear and looked really unwelcoming. However the cashier was the complete opposite and very nice to talk to.
This place has a good selection of Caribbean food. From fresh made soup to sweet treats. The food is delicious and it is a good value. They serve late into the evening. Whether you like spicy or mild food, you will find something you like. I hihgly recommended this place.
Excellent food, every time! I have had a couple dishes from this fantastic little gem located in downtown Kitchener. I would highly recommend the fried chicken and the curried chicken. Both so freaking good. The prices are great for the portion you get! They use the perfect combination of spices every single time, I cannot get enough of this place and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try Caribbean food in the city.
My family and i always go to this restaurant even when we move to London we would rrove back for the food when James was alive , great man and great food . My daughter sometimes ask to go back there for food i was not eager to go because i am a jamaican and i am used to good food, and i have great exprience at this place with the pass owner .but we went back and it was not hood . The soup did not have food and the meat you could hardle find it . The jerk chicken did not taste like jerk chicken and the little peaces of plantain they put on your plate . We order one pound of fried plantain it was not one pound and then there was no salad , salad always come with james food and the little bit of meat they put on your plate . I will never go back to this place . God rest your soal james great man great food .
The environment and workers are really lovely. Their food however is on another level of AWESOME! Try the oxtail with some rice and peas and a side of plantain. Thank me later!
Good variety of Caribbean dishes and beverages. The food was good and the service was friendly and even chatted with some customers. The only minor complaint I would give is that the plates are a bit pricey. Tip: the rice taste great with some oxtail gravy on it.
I usually come and get a soup and a spicy beef patty. Soups are LEGIT. I've had each day of the week soup , and Mondays beef soup is my favorite. They are all delicious though and loaded with veggies and goodness. Patties are tasty. 6 bucks lunch can't go wrong.
